This page explains what salmankureishi.com collects, why, and how to reach me about it, written in plain language rather than boilerplate lifted from somewhere else.
TL;DR: This site has no contact form, no login and no e-commerce, so there's no account data or payment data to worry about. It uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, and loads Google Fonts, standard third-party tools with their own privacy policies linked below. If you email, call or WhatsApp me directly using a link on this site, that conversation happens on that platform, not through this website.
What this site actually collects
Two analytics tools, both standard, both third-party:
Google Analytics 4
Pageviews, approximate location (from IP address, not precise GPS), device and browser type, referral source, and on-site behaviour like scroll depth and time on page. Set up through a placeholder GA4 Measurement ID that will be replaced with Salman's own property before this site goes live. Run under Google's own privacy policy and data controls.
Microsoft Clarity
Session recordings and heatmaps showing how visitors move through and interact with pages. Set up through a placeholder Clarity project ID that will be replaced before launch. Clarity automatically masks text in form fields and certain sensitive elements by default. Governed by Microsoft's privacy statement.
Google Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers rather than hosted locally, so a visitor's browser makes a direct request to Google to fetch them. Standard behaviour for most modern websites.
Direct contact (email, phone, WhatsApp)
There is no contact form or newsletter sign-up anywhere on this site. Every contact link is a mailto, tel or WhatsApp link. If you use one, that conversation happens on that platform (Gmail, your phone carrier, WhatsApp), under that platform's own privacy terms, not this website's.
Cookies and similar technology
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity each set their own cookies or use similar local storage to recognize a returning visitor and distinguish one session from another. Neither is used here for advertising retargeting or to build a cross-site profile. They exist only to understand how this specific site is used.
You can block or delete these cookies through your browser's own privacy settings at any time, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Analytics from collecting data on any site, including this one. Blocking them will not affect your ability to read or navigate the site.
What this site doesn't do
- No accounts or logins. There's nothing to sign up for and no password to store.
- No e-commerce or payment processing. No card details, billing addresses or transaction records pass through this site.
- No contact forms or newsletter sign-ups. Nothing typed into a form on this site is transmitted anywhere, contact happens directly through email, phone or WhatsApp instead.
- No sale of data. Nothing collected here is sold or shared with data brokers, ever.
Your rights, and how to reach me about them
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to ask what data has been collected about you, request a copy of it, or ask for it to be deleted. Because Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity data is held by Google and Microsoft under their own systems, the most direct route for anything collected by those tools is through their own privacy controls, linked above.
For anything else, or if you'd simply rather ask a person, email hello@salmankureishi.com directly. I'll respond myself. There's no support team or ticketing system standing between you and an answer.
This policy may be updated occasionally as the site or the tools it uses change. If something meaningful changes, this page will be updated directly rather than the change being buried in a changelog you'd have to go looking for.
